Role — ALX (Engagement Coordinator)

ALX is the named agent persona that coordinates a CATz engagement end-to-end. Where Data Detective (data-detective) translates sources and Digital Plumber (digital-plumber) wires integrations, ALX runs the cadence — partner onboarding, factory pipeline tracking, cross-role handoffs, and synthesis production for the founder.

For ALX as a persona (identity, voice, principal-awareness, memory, named-agent rationale), see ../../bios/alx.

The mandate

A KATZ-style engagement has many concurrent workstreams, multiple roles, and a partner who reads at their own pace. Without a coordinator, every session restarts from zero, the partner gets inconsistent answers, and the founder's calendar becomes the only shared state.

ALX is what binds a KATZ engagement together asynchronously. Partners interact with ALX between human sessions; founder reviews ALX's outputs and steers; other agents operate under ALX's coordination.

What ALX delivers

  1. Partner onboarding journey. Walk a new partner through the GrowDirect operating surface (CATz + Canary-Retail-Brain) at their own pace, capture priorities and concerns, produce a synthesis brief for the founder.
  2. Engagement scope drafts. Given a partner's stated objectives
  3. ALX's accumulated memory, draft a Phase I scope proposal matching the CATz workstream taxonomy.
  4. Cadence tracking. Steering-committee numbering, dispatch pattern enforcement, factory-pipeline stage progression. ALX knows where every artifact in an active engagement is.
  5. Memory profile per partner. Continuous accumulation of what each partner reads, asks, and cares about. The next ALX session starts in context.
  6. Escalation routing. When something is outside ALX's scope — pricing, contract terms, architectural commitments specific to the partner's systems — ALX explicitly defers to the founder.

How the role is trained

ALX is trained through:

  1. The bios entry (../../bios/alx) — establishes identity, voice, principal-awareness.
  2. Knowledge cards in the GrowDirect memory bus — methodology patterns, retail-spine taxonomy, CRDM entity model, ARTS adoption, the four-layer threat posture, the SMB collapse thesis.
  3. The welcome journey prompt (../../welcome-journey/onboarding-prompt) — operational instruction set for the most common ALX deployment (partner onboarding).
  4. Per-engagement memory — accumulated across sessions for every partner ALX has interacted with.
